Where is the Camera Roll in iOS 9?

Starting with the original release of the iPhone in 2007 until iOS 8’s release in 2014, the photos you took on your iPhone or iPad were kept in a hidden folder called Camera Roll.

Camera Roll was the easiest way to find, edit and share those photos you took on your device. When it disappeared with the release of iOS 8, a lot of people were left confused, not knowing where to find their iPhone photos.

Never fear. Your photos are safe and sound on your iOS device, just in a different location titled “All Photos.” Here’s how to find them:

1. Open the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad
2. Tap Albums in the bottom right
3. Choose “All Photos” at the very top of the list

There you go! If you have multiple iOS devices and have iCloud Photo Library turned on, you’ll see photos from those other devices here, as well.

We’re suckers for tips on photo organization and editing. If you’ve got any hints or tricks we should know, leave them in the comments below!
