iPhone Rumor Roundup!

Apple’s big announcement is just one week away, but the rumors about the new iPhone started circulating before iPhone 6 even hit the shelves almost a year ago. As we get ready to tune into the livestream on September 9th, here’s what the rumor mill says we have in store . . .

BIGGER. Though no major form factor changes are anticipated, the new iPhones are rumored to be just a hair thicker. This is in order to accommodate Force Touch, which will bring the pressure-sensitive touchscreen already standard in Apple Watch and newer MacBooks to your iPhone, enabling a greater range of control in apps, as well as improving the clarity of signatures in Apple Pay.

FASTER. A hot-rodded A9 processor and 2GB RAM would make this the fastest iPhone yet. And it’s not just about crushing candy, either. You’ll need all that processing power for the photos and videos that’ll be at your fingertips.

SHARPER. If this ends up being an S” update, like most people think, then you’re probably looking at a huge upgrade in the photo and video department. Many sources are claiming that the new iPhone will sport a 12-megapixel camera and 4K video, a huge leap from the iPhone 6. Early rumors mentioned a dual lens camera, but that’s not likely this go round.

TOUGHER. Remember “Bendgate”? You can bet Apple does. Early indications point to  added reinforcement to the new iPhone’s frame to decrease the likelihood of any new bending woes. But it doesn’t stop there. Even before the iPhone 6 was announced, there were rumors about the arrival of a sapphire glass display. If those rumors pan out, that will give the new iPhones the most shatter-resistant screen yet.

Until the 9th, though, it’s all speculation. The only thing we know for sure is we can’t wait to find out!
