How to Unjailbreak Your iPhone

Want to upgrade your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to iOS 9 but have a jailbroken device? Never fear. Below, we’ve listed the easiest steps to go from a jailbroken iOS device to running the latest and greatest iOS update from Apple.

1. Back up.
We can’t stress this enough. Back up your device.

2. Connect your iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes.

3. Get ready to unjailbreak your iPhone.
Click on the iPhone tab in the top left corner, and you’ll see the “Restore iPhone…” button.

When you click “Restore iPhone…”, iTunes is going to download the latest version of iOS, unjailbreak and erase your iPhone completely.

If you’re rethinking your decision, now is the time to back out :)

4. Restore your iPhone.
After you click “Restore iPhone…”, iTunes will make sure this is what you want. Click “Restore” or cancel if you’ve changed your mind.

5. Download and install the update.
This might be a bit of a waiting game, around 5-10 minutes. Once the update has been downloaded, your iPhone will restart and proceed to install iOS 9 and, thus, un-jailbreaking your iPhone.
