Apple just announced the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and we couldn’t be more excited! We’ve compiled a list of the most important things you need to know about the new iPhone:
The guts:
- Stunning new Retina HD display, with ion-strengthened display glass
- Thinner design: 6.9 and 7.1 mm thick for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, respectively
- 64-bit A8 processor (25% faster CPU, 50% faster graphics performance, and 50% more battery efficient)
- Improved battery life
- M8 coprocessor motion sensor – tracks distance, flights of stairs.
- LTE speeds up to 150 mbps (up from 100 mbps on iPhone 5S)
- WiFi calling available on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
Camera upgrades:
- 8MP camera, all-new sensor, f/2.2 aperture, advanced noise reduction
- Focus pixels – focus 2x faster, plus continuous auto-focus
- Optical Image Stabilization (iPhone 6 Plus only)
- Improved front-facing camera, with advanced face-detection and burst mode
- Take up to 10 photos per second
- Single-shot HDR photos

Both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are available for preorder September 12, and will ship September 19. iOS 8 is available from the App Store, free, on September 17.
