The Sawtooth Building, our new home

The Sawtooth Building, our new home

Welcome to the Sawtooth Building in Nashville, Tennessee. This is the new Griffin Technology home. We love what they’ve done to the place!

From doing a little research, we discovered the following from the Sawtooth Building Nashville blog.

The building was constructed in the early 1900’s. It served as the home to General Wax Industries until the 1950’s. It has had a variety of uses since General Wax. The unique sawtooth architecture was used in this period for several reasons. These buildings were typically for manufacturing so the “tooth” design made expansion of the facility easy, because they could build one section at a time. This design allowed for the occupant to orient the window/glass sides to take advantage of natural day lighting to the manufacturing areas.

This is day three in our new home and we’ve been busy settling in. Finishing touches are still being made, but we are all thrilled with our new digs. We’ve put together a set of photos on Flickr, so you can enjoy the before and after photographs.

We’ve even created a video to give you a real taste for how the renovation of the Sawtooth Building came together. There’s no place like home!
