One area, however, where winter totally owns summer is in the realm of the mixed drink. Whether it’s a simmering bowl of spiked cider or a single serving of rum and cranberry, there is something magical about warming yourself with the perfect beverage that, in my opinion, just doesn’t parallel the rest of the year. To that end, I’ve gathered some of my favorite alcoholic drink recipes for this time of year. I’ve tried to keep the ingredients simple and the prep time short. Give these a try with a loved one or for your next party and enjoy the one upside to long cold nights: a drink that warms you to your toes.
