1st Headphone Control Adapter for New iPod nano!

1st Headphone Control Adapter for New iPod nano!

Griffin Technology Announces First Headphone Adapter for New iPod ModelsWell, well well. If it isn’t the first VoiceOver-compatible headphone adapter for the new iPod nano and it happens to work with 3rd gen. shuffle too!

We’ve got new iPod fever just like you. To celebrate we’re connecting you with your favorite set of headphones (preferably TuneBuds) with our new Headphone Control Adapter which works perfectly with Apple’s VoiceOver feature, now available on 5th generation iPod nano and 3rd generation iPod shuffle. You’ll be able to hear artist, track and playlist information, spoken in VoiceOver’s natural-sounding vocal synthesis.

It also works as an inline remote control, allowing you to change tracks, play and pause, and adjust volume from the touch of a button if it’s a VoiceOver iPod. The track control features also work with any iPod model that supports transport controls through its headphone jack.

The adapter makes a great controller for car stereos with an auxiliary audio input. Connect the Headphone Control Adapter between a compatible iPod and any auxiliary audio cable for track control. Also enjoy volume control if your iPod supports VoiceOver. You won’t have to move your eyes from the road, where you should really have them all of the time, no?

Are you as excited as we are? Leave me a comment here and I’ll let you know when it’s available.

Seems like a real lifesaver! I sure hope there will be a pack-in extension cord, because 8″ is really short. In fact, I was hoping it would be more like 2ft, so it would combine really nice with Short Lead headphones, like the Sony MDR-EX75SL, which has a 2ft lead.

  6. Dave Delaney says:

Thanks. We made it shorter, so you can easily plug in your favorite
headphones. The full product description is available here: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/headp

    Cheers,

Will this work with the iPhone 3G? I need a remote so I won't have to take it out of my pocket to switch tracks, and this would be perfect if it does.

I bought an iLuv iEA15 wired remote recently, similar to this remote, and turns out it was only half functional. Only the track changing button works, not the volume control. It claims to work with the iPhone 3GS though.

  10. Dave Delaney says:

    Yes, it's compatible. Thanks.

  11. zammykoo says:

Thanks for the quick reply. Is it fully functional with volume controls for iphone 3g? and when will it be available? Thanks!

  12. Dave Delaney says:

Yes, it is. It should be available very soon. I can let you know if
    you like.

  13. This is good device from the specification and function. But seems line it is especially made for iPod while iPod already have this kind if device under its brand.

  14. Nathalie Yanks says:

This is exactly what I am looking for! Any idea when it will be coming out? Soon, I hope. :)

  15. Dave Delaney says:

    Yes, very soon. Thanks.

This is great. Will it be able to handle sweat and moisture? People will use it a lot for working out. Will the cord be able to withstand minor snags without shorting out? This inevitably happens over the course of time with any cords. Also, I would love to receive an e-mail when this product is available (avesrun@msn.com); it's 2/5/10 and not out to my knowledge. Are they working out kinks?

  17. Dave Delaney says:

Thanks. I suggest treating the Headphone Control Adapter like you would
    earphones.
I'll send you an email when they are available, we expect within the next
    few weeks.

    Cheers,
    Dave
