Griffin Technology Announces First Headphone Adapter for New iPod ModelsWell, well well. If it isn’t the first VoiceOver-compatible headphone adapter for the new iPod nano and it happens to work with 3rd gen. shuffle too!

We’ve got new iPod fever just like you. To celebrate we’re connecting you with your favorite set of headphones (preferably TuneBuds) with our new Headphone Control Adapter which works perfectly with Apple’s VoiceOver feature, now available on 5th generation iPod nano and 3rd generation iPod shuffle. You’ll be able to hear artist, track and playlist information, spoken in VoiceOver’s natural-sounding vocal synthesis.

It also works as an inline remote control, allowing you to change tracks, play and pause, and adjust volume from the touch of a button if it’s a VoiceOver iPod. The track control features also work with any iPod model that supports transport controls through its headphone jack.

The adapter makes a great controller for car stereos with an auxiliary audio input. Connect the Headphone Control Adapter between a compatible iPod and any auxiliary audio cable for track control. Also enjoy volume control if your iPod supports VoiceOver. You won’t have to move your eyes from the road, where you should really have them all of the time, no?

Are you as excited as we are? Leave me a comment here and I’ll let you know when it’s available.

In 1991 I went to my first Lollapalooza festival in Ontario, Canada. The band line up was awesome, Jane’s Addiction, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Living Colour, Nine Inch Nails, Ice-T & Body Count, Butthole Surfers, Rollins Band, Violent Femmes, Fishbone, Emergency Broadcast Network. It was a fun-filled day!

GZA of Wu-Tang Clan!

Fast-forward to 2009 and Lollapalooza returns with a vengeance! The music festival featuring alternative rock, hip hop, punk rock bands, dance and comedy performances never really went away, with the small exception of 2004.

The line up this year was an incredible one and Griffin was there. Sadly, I wasn’t one of the lucky ones to make the trip to Chicago. However, I did enjoy the festival vicariously through photos of the artists enjoying our cool products, like AirCurve, Simplifi and TuneBuds. Hopefully I’ll be able to attend next year.

Were you there? Who was your favorite act?

We were proud sponsors of BarCamp Chattanooga last weekend in beautiful Chattanooga, TN. Unfortunately due to prior commitments I was unable to Photo by: PhragMunkeeattend the popular unconference.

What’s a barcamp?

BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from participants who are the main actors of the event.

We provided the organizers with some Griffin goodies to giveaway to a few lucky winners. From Garrett’s smiling face we trust he was a happy winner.

Thanks to the BarCamp Chattanooga folks who were kind enough to tweet us some love over the weekend. It’s always nice to hear from ya.

Read John Hawbaker’s recap post for a taste of how the day transpired.

Throughout the day, participants taught one another about everything from game design frameworks to tracking politics on the web to developing iPhone applications. While several sessions were devoted to social media platforms and best practices
