Aug 21, 2009 I Want You To Want Me

Cheap Trick rocks! There’s no if, and or buts about it. The rock n’ roll band has been pumping out classics since 1977. Leave it to the group to actually record their latest album (coincidentally called The Latest) on 8-track! Remember 8-track? Don’t worry for you newer technology types, it’s also available in MP3 format too :-) Rick Fielder Black and White Checkerboard

One of our colleagues, John, is good friends with the band’s charismatic guitarist, Rick Nielsen. He thought it would be cool to create a custom checkerboard case for Rick’s beloved iPhone 3G. It’s well known that the black and white checkerboard pattern has been Rick’s signature style for nearly thirty years. Don’t even get me started on his awesome lawnmower.

As you can see in the pic below Rick really loved the checkerboard case we made for him. In fact, people around the office liked it so much, we’ve decided to make more to sell on our website. We’ll let you know first thing when they arrive – something tells me they’re gonna go quick!

Leave me a comment here and I’ll let you know as soon as we have them available.

I have a strong feeling that our new Elan Form Etch case is going to sell like hot cakes.

Elan Form Etch is a premium leather bonded polycarbonate iPhone 3G and 3GS case. It’s leather outer layer is decorated with an intricately etched pattern that feels great in your hand.  The unique, vintage design really catches the eye. It’s very cool.

This popular case is currently unavailable from our warehouse, but never fear. You can grab one now from your local US Apple Store.

Like I said, they will sell like hot cakes.

On a side note, I was wondering where the expression came from:

SELL LIKE HOT CAKES – “Hot cakes cooked in bear grease or pork lard were popular from earliest times in American. First made of cornmeal, the griddle cakes or pancakes were of course best when served piping hot and were often sold at church benefits, fairs, and other functions. So popular were they that by the beginning of the19th century ‘to sell like hot cakes’ was a familiar expression for anything that sold very quickly effortlessly, and in quantity.” From “Encyclopedia of Word and Phrase Origins” by Robert Hendrickson (Facts on File, New York, 1997).
